Philippians 1:6

This morning in my Mother's Bible, I came across Philippians 1:6

UNDERLINED IN RED

This means, spiritually, this was a big deal to her and it is a big deal to me too!

I remember the morning and the place when we first heard this together.

I remember the red pen!

As brand new Christians my family went to a little cinder block church called, Fruitvale Community Church. Ted Stone was our pastor and Milt Cole was assistant pastor. Ted used an overhead projector when he preached. He taught us the depth of scripture line by line and word by word.

Ted broke this verse down for us something like this...

1. The beginning of God's work in you is the moment you accepted Christ as Savior ... you became perfect and forgiven in God, the Father's, sight ... You are perfect!
2. The Holy Spirit CONTINUES the work in you as you learn to walk with Christ! YOU ARE BEING MADE PERFECT!
3. On the day you meet Jesus face to face YOU WILL BE PERFECT AS HE IS PERFECT.

I can't say it as well as Ted taught it, but it is underlined in the red blood of my Savior!

To sum up:

1.YOU ARE PERFECT!

2.YOU ARE BEING MADE PERFECT!

3.YOU WILL BE PERFECT!

Thanks for the reminder Mama.

I am forgiven and yet still under construction.

The Lord holds the blueprints and sees what I will be ... like Jesus.

Amen!
