EVERYTHING MEANS SOMETHING...This is one of my favorite stories EVER!
After all the glory of Palm Sunday, followed by the conflict, betrayal and terror of Jesus' arrest and crucifixion, when Jesus appeared alive to his disciples on the beach in Galilee, he cooked breakfast for them!
We are loved by the God who takes time to fix us breakfast!
An ordinary thing...it is the ordinariness of it which is so extraordinary.
John 21:12-14
12 Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord.
13 Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.
14 This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.
Sometimes in the midst of all the trouble and worry and difficulty of life, what we really need is a cup of coffee, and a big breakfast and an honest conversation with our Lord and Savior!
Tell Him what's up. Really talk to him.
Open your Bible to John 21 and just go fishing in Galilee for a few minutes.
Chill out. The risen, unbeatable, victorious Jesus is with you.
The woodsmoke you smell is the fire he made to warm you.
The food you will taste, he has prepared.
In the midst of all the drama, He is smiling at you..."come eat breakfast..."
